Introduction to Zentangle
A calm and creative introduction to mindful drawing – no experience needed.
If you’re new to the Zentangle Method, this is a gentle place to begin.
I invite you to slow down and discover the foundations of Zentangle; its background, philosophy, and the mindful approach that makes this practice so calming and accessible. Through simple, deliberate line-making, you’ll learn how structure and pattern naturally come together to create unique abstract art, without pressure or expectation.
I guide you step by step through the eight steps of the Zentangle Method, working at a calm, unhurried pace. There is no need for prior experience and no requirement to “be artistic”. Zentangle is not about talent or perfection; it is about being present, one line at a time.
My approach gently dissolves the belief that you can’t draw or aren’t creative. If you can write letters, you’re already on your way. By following along, you’ll be surprised not only by what appears on the page, but by the sense of focus, ease, and quiet confidence that emerges as you draw.
This session is recorded, allowing you to return to it whenever you wish to revisit the process, reconnect with the calm, or simply enjoy the rhythm of drawing again. Come with an open mind and a willingness to slow down. You may be surprised by what you create – and how it makes you feel.
